Over the course of several weeks, I worked on designing, refining, enhancing, and developing PSA posters for a cause I felt strongly about. While there were many things I considered and could’ve chosen, I chose to focus on mental illness. This is the final product.
The concept of this project was to determine a topic I felt passionate about and create PSA posters for them. I had to have three (3) posters in a series which would be cohesive and have a common theme but all be at least somewhat different in order to fit the requirements of being part of a poster series.
After many different designs and options, I went with the concept of emojis being unable to express their feelings and thoughts, just as mental illness causes. This was an idea that struck me because of the society we live in. In this day and age, we often use emojis to express our emotions (especially younger generations), and when you’re feeling so upturned because of mental illness, you often can’t express it.
This concept seemed to be something a lot of individuals could relate to, especially as millennials.
